Abstract

The Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) in 2006 is examined in the context of the Fourth World War, highlighting the challenges of identifying the enemy and the significant defense budget allocation. The article explores the shift towards Great Power conflicts, particularly with China, and the Pentagon's focus on future wars. It discusses the concept of Fourth World wars, rooted in indigenous liberation movements, and their historical significance in the decolonization era. The narrative also addresses the ambiguity and covert nature of the GWOT, emphasizing the role of American Indian policy as a model for understanding indigenous nations within the state system.
