Abstract
This article discusses the geopolitical choices beyond capitalism, communism, and poverty, focusing on the fourth choice for nations facing political, military, and economic expansion. It emphasizes the importance of establishing a geopolitical firebreak and highlights the significance of enduring nations anchored in their geography. It also highlights the exploitation of indigenous lands in Mindanao for plantations, leading to the displacement of Muslim populations. The piece further discusses the political and military crisis in the Ferdinand Marcos regime and the potential implications of the Corazon Aquino presidency on indigenous nations. Urgent measures are needed to address encroachment, violence, dispossession, and displacement threatening indigenous cultures and people.
