Abstract

This review discusses The Subsistence Perspective: Beyond the Globalised Economy by Maria Mies and Veronica Bennholdt-Thomsen, offering a critical analysis of neoliberal capitalist principles shaping the global economy. The author examine the structural role of patriarchy in supporting capitalism and analyze how development and colonialism have impacted subsistence economies worldwide.
