Abstract
This article delves into the significance of digitizing and preserving intangible cultural heritages to promote intercultural understanding and appreciation. It highlight the impact of globalization on cultural diversity and the challenges faced by indigenous communities in maintaining their cultural identity. The importance of recording worldviews alongside tangible and intangible heritages for cultural transmission is emphasized. Additionally, the article discusses the role of cultural competence in appreciating other cultures, the interconnectedness of life forms in traditional communities, and the necessity of mutual respect and community unity. It also examines Values Orientation Theory to facilitate cross-cultural understanding and communication. Overall, the article advocates for the preservation of cultural diversity and the promotion of intercultural education.
