Abstract

Reflection on funeral (1921-1989), historical background on Manuel, organized communities at the local level even though gov didn't like. Ideal of self-determination, Canadian White Paper 1969, changing strategies, National Indian Brotherhood, Canadian delegation to Tanzania and New Zealand, saw realities of nation-state conflicts, orgnaizing trans-national meetings with indian groups (world council for Indigneous peoples, idea of the Fourth World. Travels, Universal Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, President of the Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs. detication. Issues with Canadian constitutional patriation, gave confidence and hope to nations around the world.
